I have successfully guided hundreds of professionals towards the jobs and careers they have long sought, providing career coaching and professional development. It is the combination of a strategic approach to career guidance and a background in executive search that will give you my unique perspective.

Nearly four years ago I founded Compass Points Advisors, LLC to be able to provide my clients with that effective combination. Prior to that, I spent nearly twenty years as a Managing Director at The Peak Organization, where I placed executives across a wide range of positions within the financial services industry.

Several years ago I joined the Five O'Clock Club, an internationally recognized career development and outplacement firm, where I soon became a Certified Career Coach. My executive search experience gives me the insight to what it takes to stand out in a highly competitive job market, which naturally I am able to pass on to you.

I graduated from Colgate University with a degree in Economics, staying very active in the school's Alumni Affairs Group and Career Services Center, and currently collaborate with NYU to provide career advice to their students and alumni. I have been a keynote speaker and panelist at several career seminars, graduate school conferences and industry events, and have been quoted in a wide array of publications. I am a recognized member of Toastmasters International, an organization for communication and leadership development.

In addition to being a serial advice provider and idea generator, I enjoy playing ice hockey, softball, golf and the guitar. I recently took my love of comedy to the next level and performed stand-up routines at New York City's famous Gotham Comedy Club. I have lived in Manhattan for many years and am married with three children.

I look forward to the opportunity to guide you towards the job you have often envisioned having!

Always available

Robert Virgilio, Chief Compliance Officer

I recently decided to transition out of a senior executive position I held for 15 years, without a job. Knowing Mark from his recruitment days, I was hesitant when he informed me that he could coach me. I originally thought that "coaches" were for someone else (not me) and that I did not need a coach. After speaking with Mark, I began to recognize that his service was invaluable. He calmly and smartly walked me through my initial efforts, providing insight into networking advice that I would not have thought of on my own. Throughout my entire search process, he was always available to provide sound advice, strategy, and friendly positive affirmation that eliminated a lot of potential anxiety. I recently accepted an offer that had originated from one of Mark's strategies. I have already referred Mark's services to friends as he is an expert in the dynamic changing job search business.

I value his advice and would recommend him

Yegor Zubarev, Legal Specialist & Marine Veteran

I worked with Mark for just about a month, and in that time frame I had over a dozen interviews. His patience, commitment, and follow-through helped me succeed in my search for employment, resulting in my acceptance of an offer. Mark dedicated an extraordinary amount of time to make sure that I had all of the tools to perform well. I value his advice and would recommend him to any professionals looking to end up in a great job that they had initially thought would be a big challenge.

A real professional

Michael Gordon, BNY Mellon

Mark is real professional in the world of networking and developing contacts that will lead you to you next job. His advice is practical and thoughtful - and it works. He will talk to you about macro issues - using exercises to determine what types of roles you want, what types of companies you want, and where you want to work, so that you get a target list of 50-100 opportunities that would make a great next step in your career. But he will also talk to you at a micro level - about where to sit in an open conference room, how to start conversations with acquaintances in a manner that leads to more professional breakthroughs and how to structure your LinkedIn page. Mark adds a lot of value and is a good guy. You want him as part of your team when you are in transition or even just contemplating a transition.
