Mike Normant

Coach Message

I help companies engage and retain their employees by developing managers and leaders to demonstrate they “care” about their people. I offer a variety of services including facilitation/training, coaching, and/or consulting. I specialize in working with fast-growing, venture-funded companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. My engineering background, early career experiences in technical roles, and recent experience running global internal training functions at eBay and ServiceSource give me a unique ability to work effectively in this space. Another passion of mine is coaching individuals who have reached a major crossroads in their lives and are ready for deeper exploration. Change can be scary. And often that prevents us from realizing our innermost desires. I help my individual clients break through self-limiting barriers, and unleash the power to decide how they want to live their life.

How pricing works
CoachMarket pre-negotiates the best prices for our career coaches, and will match you with a coach that fits your budget. Coaches will recommend a package to you based on your needs that includes a suggested number of sessions and deliverables.
Typical price ranges
Our coaches typically charge between $150-$350 an hour. The exact rate depends on the type of coaching expertise, years of experience and industry background. Coaching requires a series of sessions to be effective and coaches may offer special rates when creating a package of multiple sessions.
Billing and payments
Coaches will create a pricing package for you during the FREE consultation and you pay CoachMarket online using any major credit card prior to starting work with your coach. You will receive an email with a link to the payment page once you have agreed to a plan with your coach.

Management & Leadership Development: I’m often engaged by the head of HR. If the needs are clear, we’ll quickly discern whether one or more of my customizable workshops will meet those needs. If the needs are unclear, we’ll decide what type of needs analysis should be conducted. Content and delivery will be tailored to customer needs. Some clients prefer to carve out a whole day for participant skill development while others prefer to work in half-day or even two-hour chunks. We’ll agree up front what success looks like.

Employee Engagement Consulting: I provide consulting support around a variety of topics pertaining to the employee experience. From onboarding programs to internal communications to performance management, and many topics in between.

Transition Coaching: For individuals experiencing significant personal changes in their lives (e.g., new job, starting a family, empty nest, planning for retirement, etc..), I help them lean into those changes with intent. These engagements offer the benefit of a clear process while allowing for total flexibility within that process to address the unique needs of each client. At a high-level, the process involves clarifying how we will work together; identifying the most important gaps that exist between current state and desired state; developing the plan to close those gaps and working the plan. There will be homework assigned to the client at the end of each session. Throughout the process I will be there to guide you and, yes, make you accountable! In order to make an impact, a client needs to commit to a minimum of ten sessions.

Efficent and quick.

David Wilcock San Francisco

"I don't know if it was serendipity or synchronicity, but I was introduced to Mike Normant at a time when I was ready and eager to make a fundamental shift in my life, I just wasn't quite sure how to go about it. I can unequivocally state that without his guidance and expertise, that shift would have happened poorly and slowly, if at all. The transformation was nothing short of epiphanetic, and though it was mine alone to make, it took Mike to get me there as efficiently and quickly as I did. I couldn't have made better use of that time and those resources, and speaking as someone who has made use of personal coaches before, I would urge anyone to hire Mike as your coach without delay."

Great experience.

Stacey, Head of HR SF-based tech startup

"I engaged Mike Normant to lead an initial workshop for our managers. Based on a few discussions, he designed a day that met our needs. Mike places an emphasis on helping managers develop their feedback and coaching skills which in my mind are critical for helping managers create strong working relationships with their people. Mike's engineering background and prior start-up experience set him apart from other trainers I've worked with. Our 'techie' crowd loved him and left the workshop asking for more. He's a great partner and I look forward to continuing to work with him."

Highly Reccomended!

Mike did an outstanding job of walking a group of managers through the process of understanding four different interaction styles. Most importantly, he walked them through a series of exercises that encouraged them to really consider what this means on the job and how they could coach their colleagues to embrace each team member's unique style. Mike effectively builds team rapport and creates an environment that is safe for personal disclosure. I highly recommend Mike.
